Well I am lost. My husband was going to fix the compartment door over the batteries in our 1999 Bounder.
I can find the new latches but I need the rods that are connected to the latch. Can anyone give me a hint on where to find them? I have seen long ones but these are shorter he said....Thanks in advance for any help

Are you talking about latches where you lift the recessed handle
Which rotates a lever arm on the back side of the door
Two rods pull in to unlatch the door
Mine are just aluminum rod bent on the end to fit the holes in the latch mechanism
I replaced one of mine by going to the hardware store buying rod and the little steel retainers that serve as lock on clips

OP You can get rods at Home Depot just FYI. 🙂
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
