Need a new *very small* microwave

The one thing I couldn't get to work as we were camping in our new to us 1999 American Cruiser is the 2004 Tappan TM5030W microwave. It measures 17.5" wide, 8.875" high, and 12" deep. The hole for the microwave is 18.25" x 9.75" x 12" and there needs to be some room for the air to circulate. Has anyone bought a new microwave recently? If so, what did you get? Thanks!

There is NO room to enlarge the cabinet and there is only one permanent table top in the camper (on top of the fridge) - here's the floor plan

Thanks for all of your help! I did bring it in the house and plug it in. I am pretty sure it is the HV fuse as it will get power but won't engage to heat anything. I suspect if I can find a new one it will be as cheap as getting this one fixed, but I think it is repairable.

You MIGHT find one small enough to fit your space but....looking at a couple of dozen very low end microwaves offered by Walmart, I don't find any that meet all of those specifications. What would be the problem with enlarging the opening. Most .7 Cu Ft models even are smaller than that. Might also consider converting that space into storage and using the microwave as a table top unit.

Try plugging it in at home. Voltage at campsite or generator may be low. I tried using mine with an invereter that was not strong enough and it took a long time to get it to heat anything. Small microwave ovens tend to have no features to speak of so it may be worth repairing. I'd also check the fuse as well.

The 12 volt microwave comes with a built in inverter. So it probably operates on 120 volts. The reason I suggested it was size.

Technically speaking, microwaves don't heat. They cause water molecules to vibrate fast--which cause the surrounding materials to heat. The frequency is 2450 megahertz.

I carry one of those manual knob white faced 120VAC 500WATT WALMART EL-CHEAPO SPECIAL Microwaves ($25-$35) for my OFF-ROAD trips. Works great with my Inverter... Usually only used to warm up my coffee...

Almost any 12v appliance isn't worth getting. To work properly, a MW needs a certain amount of energy input, and 12v has a hard time doing that, especially with appliances that heat.

Pull the cover. Some have a small glass fuse that may be blown.
