Needing some fast advise

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what to tow my car trailer with. It looks like the Class C is out because the trailer weighs around 7500 lb loaded.. I am looking at a 1999 Rexhall Vision 25.5 ft with the F53 Chassis. It has a GCVR of 15,500 and a GVWR of 26,000lbs.Do you guys think this is ample..I would love to go DP but I don't want to deal with that large of a coach.. Any advise will help.. I want to stay within my means money wise.

    Most Gas Class A only have 5000#. But you have to know what the coach weights and all the stuff you put in it. You are already over to start off.

    That towing capacity sounds about 10,000 lbs high. And it's not just being able to pull that weight. Think about stopping!.

    I am on a site called Giantrvonline and it states that all f53 chassis have a GVWR of 26000 lbs and 4 wheel disc with ABS..

    You need to look at the GCCW -weight of the MH loaded and ready to travel including people, gear, fuel etc. Then see how much weight you have left to deal with. Changing the hitch does not give your coach more capacity, and you have to determine if the coach frame will handle 7500 lbs. Most class A and Class C's have brakes designed marginally to stop the coach, anything you tow must have it's own braking sytem.

    There's another problem with the F53 chassis and pushing the 5K limit besides the hitch, brakes and powertrain. Most coach builders will add extensions to the end of the frame which could fail if the limit is pushed. To find some thing that can safetly tow 5K+ you're looking at a DP probably something in 36 foot and beyond class.

    Gross COMBINED Weight Rating, (GCWR) minus actual weight of coach ready for travel equals MAXIMUM towing capacity...you're looking at a DP with that weight ....Dennis

    I have a 2004 f53 chassis with a gvwr of 22,000 lbs. The gcwr is 26,000 lbs. It had a 3500 lb hitch on it.

    No, you have that backwards.

    GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)is weight rating of loaded coach and is ALWAYS less than

    GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating), as GCWR includes loaded weight of coach and anything you tow.
