5thwheelleroldman - You will definitely get better results having the camera mounted high on the rear of the trailer and pointing down to view what is behind.

At night time my FORD OEM TAILGATE Rear Camera on my truck does the same thing as you decscribe.

  • Would such a monitor improve my trailer rear view camera which becomes washed out, too bright in sunlight, or too dark? I can barely make out the cab of an 18 wheeler when my trailer bumper has passed it.

I had very good service from them when I bought my three camera Voyager system from them. They has all of the adapters that I needed to use my old cables.
