Norcold won't work.....again

Last time the fridge wouldn't work, we went to the local shop and they installed Recall Revision E. It worked. The tech also stated that if we had any problems in the future, hold a magnet up to the module, listen for a click and it will reset. So, today it wouldn't start. I still think maybe because I had not fired it up in 2 months, but when I tried the magnet trick, nothing. I called the shop and the tech said, get a bigger magnet. Really? Maybe tomorrow. Today all I seem to have are refrigerator magnets.
  • Is the red light on the recall switch on the back of the fridge on? If on there is some kind of problem with the fridge and using the magnet just bypasses the SAFETY feature of the recall.

If the red light is not on your problem is elsewhere. Does it work on electricity?

Get gas flowing by lighting your stove burners. It can take some time for the gas to start flowing enough to light. Don't leave it on without being there trying to get stove lit.
  • You have a nice sized diesel pusher with at least 4 batteries and an inverter. Toss the norcold and put in a residential. If you dry camp add 400 watts of solar. You will NEVER regret going to a residential.

    Good luck.
  • Thanks. In the afternoon glare, I realize I only thought the red light was on. It wasn't, so nix the magnet ploy. Tried firing up burners and water heater, and nothing. No power to the unit. I was out of commission for a few months, so for some reason I hope my oversight will be rectified once we get her moving and camped. Just a small trip, so I can live w/o the refer if nothing works out. Then time to look at a residential unit. :)

So problem isn't the fridge......problem is you don't have any 12V DC power.
    Is battery disconnect switch off?

And yes.......if it was the recall box it takes a strong magnet to reset when tripped (RED LIGHT ON)
But just remember...........why did it trip? A real fault detected (700*F) or just a glitch ?????
