not sure of the technical term, but is this what I need?

So I got up on my roof to lube the Winegard antenna gears and such, and I noticed the cable that leads from the antenna into the roof has a "boot" or cover that has come loose. It looks like the white sealant that surrounds it has separated as well. The boot feels pretty brittle, so I was searching for a replacement. Is this what I'm looking for?

Radio shack used to carry them but not sure if any more RADIO SHACKS are around anymore.

CHeck with AMAZON for RG CABLE BOOT COVERS.

Also LOWES should carry them in the Antenna Cable section...

You link from AMAZON looks good but just buy one and it works then get a bag full haha...

  • Rubber grommet. After you take the old one off, clean up the area with mineral spirits and let it dry. Install the new grommet and cover the grommet and where the cable goes through the roof with lap sealant (dicor).
  • Any satellite or cable guy should have one on his truck. Ask...most likely it'll be free....Dennis
  • Late bloomer,

Those boots can be replaced with a good rubberized tape or silicon tape. I'd be sure to replace the f-fitting as well. Don't be tempted to use RTV or silicon sealant from a tube. Just fyi, most sat. and cable guys won't have the boots anymore...they use a rubber grommet ahead of the fitting- these would be ok for residential but not for rv. From a former cable guy.
