Note to self (water heater iod)

Being new to RV'n I am learning as I go... Lesson learned today, Check the water heater iod rod every year rather than 2 years. Mine was shot!!! Placed an order today for two today so I will have a backup...Lol
  • No need to replace anode rod until 75% gone.

Depends on water source for rate of deterioration

Aluminum type rods will last longest BUT can build up material on them making them difficult to remove

Magnesium won't collect material but can react with bacteria causing a sulfurous smell
  • Mine usually makes it about six months before there is very little left.
