I do not frequent this subforum, apologies if this has been posted:

While reading the news during my lunch break, I will sometimes peruse the titillating stories on the side of the browser. While doing such whose topic was old advertisements from the 70's, this came up:

Sold the TC, previous owner of 2 NorthStar pop-ups & 2 Northstar Arrows...still have the truck:

2005 Dodge 3500 SRW, Qcab long bed, NV-6500, diesel, 4WD, Helwig, 9000XL,
Nitto 285/70/17 Terra Grapplers, Honda eu3000Is, custom overload spring perch spacers.

Can you imagine anyone doing an ad like that nowadays? :E "Park her anywhere. Take her to the beach. The mountains. A secluded forest. She's always ready, no matter what you want to do or where you want to go." People have gone to prison for less.

We had two Winnies from that era. We all have great memories of them. Picked up a couple with a baby between Roswell and Corona NM one night in a snow storm that had run off the road. They were stunned at how warm and cozy we all were as we delivered them to Corona. Give them warm drinks and everyone just visited. Yep 7 of us in a 18 ft Brave.

The old Winnebago's are as classic as the Airstream. You can spot one a mile away and know exactly what it is. I remember how popular they were. If you owned a Winnebago in it's day, you'd pretty much reached the top ... comparable in status to owning a Provost today!

My wife's family had a Winnebago (2 adults 3 kids), and they traveled all over the country. My wife tells me some pretty wild stories, especially when her grandmother and her aunt also came along ... total of 7 people. I keep asking her if she remembers how everyone slept. Sounds like it was a pretty crowded endeavor. But they had fun! That's all that mattered.

I lived in Spokane from 88 to 99, used see those expo logoed Winnies everywhere, some running but most parked and fading away.
Thanks for the ad.
Can you imagine as spoiled as we are with today's rigs jumping in one of those and heading cross country?
