I paid $3,500 for my 1994 33' Class A HR. Of course 5,200 miles after I bought it I had to replace the engine but the original engine did run well until it developed a rod knock, even then I was able to drive it 160 miles to a friends place where I replaced the engine. If one is willing to put in the sweat equity there are numerous inexpensive RV's to be had. Even with the engine replacement I don't think I did bad since now my RV has a professionally rebuilt engine that runs beautifully!
