Onan Generator Start Motor Continues to Run

Question

Interesting problem. I have a 2002 Class-C with an Onan Emerald BGE 4000 watt generator. For some reason when I push the start button on the generator that after the generator starts the starter motor continues to run. Only way to stop that is to push the stop button which of course also shuts off the generator. Anyone else experience this problem and what the fix it?

The starter bendix or solenoid, may be sticking.

But pressing the stop switch would not change a stuck solenoid or bendix.

Do you also have a start-stop switch in side your mh?  If so does that inside switch O.K. ?
