Still searching for a new camper. Just missed out on a good one, should have moved faster :( We think we would prefer the twin beds. Our thinking is that we'd like to be able to keep the beds made up for sleeping so we don't have to fool with the sheets, blankets, etc. every morning and night. We figured we'd keep the linens on the beds all the time, and put a comforter on top for sitting on during meals, for relaxing, etc.We're thinking with the fold-out couch we'll have to make up the beds every morning and night. If you use the couch and davenports as twins (U-shaped), how do you work our the linens?Looking online, there aren't very many LTV Free Spirits with twin beds available. Is it worth it to keep watching and waiting???

we have twins- with fillers in the middle to make a "king"...( an RV king that is).we leave made up as a bed.the sofa model ( winnie era) we tested was lumpy to the point where a mattress topper would be needed.mike

If you leave it made up as a "king", where do you sit to eat, relax, etc.?

This is a PW Lexor TD- front seats swivel.can also sit on the bed if wanted.Shan tends to sit up on the bed to read or watch TV...I tend to sit in the swiveled pass seat...then I am out of her way if she is doing something in the galley.as in the post below- make use of outdoors space- we carry a couple of folding chairs and have an awning- but usually we have a spot with a picnic table and rig up our hammockMike

I like the twin beds. They double as sofas. We use a 1/2" pad covered in a twin sheet. We roll it up with the sheet on it if we need a sofa. Most of the time we just eat from the front seats during heavy rain and outside at a picnic table in good weather or a light rain while using a portable cover. The outdoors is much nicer than staying cooped up in a B all the time. Bs are great for sleeping comfortably without heat or mosquitoes. The rest of the time is usually outside.

I have the PleasureWay Excel TD with the twin beds. I couldn't stand the original cushions that came with the couch/bed setup because they were way too hard but also not supportive enough so I had custom made mattresses put in and now we leave the cushions at home. What a difference! Just like sleeping on my own bed at home! Don't under estimate the need for a comfortable bed to sleep on when you're on the road.

I had a Pleasure-way TD (twin couches); I now have a Pleasure-way TS with folding couch. I can't tell you how much I miss the twin couches... convenience, and tons more storage.
I keep the couch folded down and use half the couch, plus seat, and keep it made up as a bed, because I ddnt want to have to make up the bed every night, or whenever I wanted to nap.

My next Class B will definitely have double couches.

I have an RT170P w/electric sofa and leave it made up as a bed most of the time. For sitting/lounging/dining, I use the front passenger seat swiveled around, and/or the 3rd seat, with the pullout front table. For lounging/reading/watching TV while sitting on the bed, I use the backrest of the 3rd seat leaned horizontally against a rear corner or wall as an adjustable angle backrest. The bed area is also my dog's space to hang out with a dog blanket to keep my bedding clean.

The electric couch is important to me for usage as a 2nd car since it provides proper face forward seating for 3 and with good seat belts. I like to use the RT for our longer road trips and turn the bed back into a couch anytime we have more than 3 people.

We love the twin beds in our trailer... But they are much more comfortable than the twin beds we looked at in a Roadtrek 190. Those were more like the width of cots... Remember them? -- wood cross braces and canvas to lie on... Anyway - lie down and check out the beds before you buy.

We do keep the rear double bed in our Roadtrek 170 made up all the time and use the front seats for sitting in.

As a side note... We have Travasaks in our trailer and an RV Superbag in our B because we like to wash our sheets. :)

I had a 1997 Leisure Travel which had the electric sofa which I hated. To me, it's not a good use of space. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable. My prior B was a 1995 PW which had twin beds which is much better, more comfortable.
I've had three class b's and IMHO the Leisure travel had the best quality. I just can't understand why most of the LT have electric sofas.
I currently own an 18' 97 Xplorer Mur van which has a very comfortable bed..it's a dinette that drops down to a double.

Our first B, had a "jackknife sofa" on one side and a dinette on the other which when both down made a large bed. After a couple years we replaced with twins which were better. On our B+ we had a power sofa, it was OK, but we used a topper when sleeping. Our new B will have twin beds.

We have twins that we leave the travelsaks on all the time. Sit on them as couches during the day/evening and the bed is already made up at night. We leave them as twins so it is easier for one of us to get up without disturbing the other. We had a travel trailer where one of us had to crawl over the other to get out of bed. Like the twins. Have never had a problem hitting a cold wall even on our 9 week trip to Alaska.

We were very happy with the twin bed and night stand arrangement in our PW Excel. Travasaks are not sleeping bags, they have sheets inside that zip in with Velcro strips. Keep in mind that the bed arrangement affects the very important outside storage capacity. Some with the electric sofa have little or no outside storage space. Good luck with your search.

I bought new 2015 ERA with twins one month ago. Put 2" memory foam on top with quilts and throw pillows for daily lounging with laptops and rear TV usage. Huge space. Dog loves furnace vent below in "cave." Happy with decision.
