Painting the Exterior

I have a 2002 Adventurer and the outside is shot. It will not shine
anymore and it has spider cracks all over and pot marks starting.
Does anyone on the east coast area know of a good body shop for class
A motor homes. This is going to need good prep work before painting
again.
  • I've used, with great success, "Hainesport Auto and Truck" on route 38 in Hainesport New jersey. They have a website.

They have a complete paint shop.
  • I had a 2001 journey with same problem. My understanding is that the problem is the sidewall material and painting is a temporary fix as it will reoccur. Winnebago called it "sidewall checking". Others called it "sidewall etching". The fibers are working their way out of the wall material. Darker colors, more heat, causes it to happen faster. Most all manufacturer's had the same ptoblem. My Newmar product has had the sidewall material replaced. Can do that on a hung wall slide, cannot do on a vacubonded wall. Paint will fix for awhile but do not know for how long.
