Paintless dent removal

Has anyone had any experience with a paint less dent removal service? I have a dent on the cap along the top edge of my coach and was thinking about using one of these services to remove the dent.
Thanks,
Tom
  • I had a red Trans Am and the right front was parking lot damaged. Looked like someone actually drove over it. I got a $1200.00 quote to repair and repaint from a reputable body shop. Stopped in at a Fix-A-Dent to see what they could do and make an appointment....the guy looked at it and said $50 buck...when? right now. Took him a half hour in the driveway and it was absolutely like new. I got lucky.
  • I had a small dent remove from my Jeep hood, right at the front after a foul ball hit it at the old Cheney Stadium as I was leaving a lopsided game. Paid $200.00 and it never was the same. You could still see little nubs, better than before but never again. That was an expensive game, and a some kid beat me to the ball too. lol I could have bought a plastic hood air dam for $60.00 and it would have look stylish and hid the dent forever.
  • I concur it works good on new cars with thin resilient sheet metal and paint. You might have some luck with aluminum compartment doors but the front and rear caps are generally fiberglass so if it is pushed it may require body fiber glass patch and repaint.
  • Only works on metal. Fiberglass don't bend. Also no crease in metal.
  • The good ones can work miracles if there's access behind the damage.
  • I have used them on cars and they work great assuming the paint isn't scratched. But you say this in on your coach? What is your cap made out of? Most are fiberglass. I don't recall ever seeing a dent in fiberglass. It's usually smooth or it's broken.
  • Yes, I have used them a couple of times. Once for hail damage and the last time for when I backed the side of my truck into a tree while trying to park the trailer one night.
In each instance they fixed it so you could not tell there had ever been any damage.
There's only so much they can do though. If it has too much of a crease they can't always fix it.
