We've stayed at Emerald Desert RV Resort in Desert Hot Springs. Beautiful facilities. Pretty sure they still have a golf course too, although that may have changed due to some town homes built on adjacent property.
Emerald Desert RV Resort is in Palm Desert..... much less windy than anything in Desert Hot Springs which is on the north side of I-10.

There are a couple of places in Desert Hot Springs. One that we've stayed at is Catalina RV. It's nice -- clean, pleasant people, and a lovely pool heated by the hot springs. The other one is on Benson, but I can't remember the name of it.

Kayteg1, there is so much to do in the area besides golfing. The museums, restaurants, casino's, village fest downtown (on Thursday's) etc. They have architectural tours, movies star tours, etc. We also have the 'Living Desert' zoo in Palm Desert. There are hiking trails galore all over the valley! Also many bike riding routes.
Sounds like lot have changed since I was there, but still with 115F all we could do was jump out of the car, take a picture and quickly return to the car with AC still running.
