PDI tomorrow

We pulled the trigger last Wednesday on our new ((to us), 2012 Nexus Phantom P23 25'), Class C. Tomorrow afternoon will be our PDI down at La Mesa RV. The coach only has 6,200 miles on it so I don't anticipate too many rude surprises. The awning had never been unrolled but had been heavily rained on so there was a lot of mold and mildew stain for them to deal with. Other than that the entire rig was very clean inside and out. I have a list two pages long of things to check and of course it includes running every system, bell and whistle from top to bottom. I have a bag of tools and misc equipment to help me get er done and I will be wearing my grubbies to facilitate crawling over, under, around and back again. We will be filming everything and my bride takes notes in shorthand at about 100+ words a minute.

It will be a lot of work but we can't wait to get started. Our first trip will be the following week. I'll have a post inspection followup report tomorrow night. :C
  • Good luck with it. We know just how you feel as we just bought a 2012 Forest River Lexington with only 1510 miles on it. We're in the process of fitting it out and hope to take our first shake down trip in about a week.
Did exactly what your going to do, top to bottom, inside and out inspection. Sounds like you found your "dream rig" also.
Many good day's and miles for you.

  • Hooray! Our new baby passed the PDI with flying colors. Getting it done was a bit of a chore as the guy doing it didn't show and his replacement kept disappearing for 15 minutes at a time leaving me standing there with questions.

When we finally finished they parked us on the couch for 30 minutes as "the office was in use".

I am sitting there steaming as all I have left to do is write them a check for 10,000 and hit the quickly clogging I-10 to get home. Finally we were called in and the requisite paperwork was completed.

Overall a good experience with La Mesa RV bu they lost serious points with the run around inflicted on us at the very end of an otherwise satisfactory transaction. :C
