Hello -

My wife and I will be traveling to the Phoenix are in a couple of weeks. We have previously stayed at Pleasant Harbor RV Resort and were planning on doing so again. The park still has high Good Sam ratings, but some private users low-rated it earlier this year because of what they say are a possible Hells Angel as a full-time resident there who was creating some issues.

Is there anyone with recent experience or information about this location?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dennis

You state "possible Hells Angel resident" so you don't know if this is true or not. This is 2nd and 3rd-hand information. Just because someone has a motorcycle doesn't make them a Hells Angel.

I'd suggest you just call the park and state what you read and ask them. If you liked it before I would go back. That particular park will not let someone stay if they're causing trouble. Also, you could just pay for a night and get the feel of the park. There are many parks in the area to go if it doesn't work out - and most will be nearly empty at this time of year in Arizona.

Dennis 1934,
I would make sure and contact the park as well or possibly Peoria Police Department as they may have jurisdiction on that half of lake, ask for community actions officer. If not then Maricopa County Sheriffs office will have jurisdiction. You have a right to be concerned about a Hells Angel or prospect as a neighbor. The Hells Angels are not your typical Harley rider. They are connected to any type of crime that can make them money. I would also not wear any colors around them or you would or could end up assaulted, shot, drive-by or firebombed. I suppose in Sturgis there are plenty of Law Enforcement and that is what keeps them somewhat in check. A patched member of the Hells Angels did not save a life or donate to a needy cause to get his patch. Yes I might have some experience with these folks but from the other side. You are wise to question if there was a member or worse a prospect living at that R.V. Park. Hpefully if it was true they got those folks removed.

Wear your 'colors' and go for it....:B

If you've enjoyed the park in the past, you'll enjoy it again. Some folks complain and degrade a park because of no wifi, (bring your own, cheapskate) dirty restrooms, (use the ones in your coach, that's what they're there for) even, not enough pull thrus...(geeze, learn to back your rig up)....Just because 'they' have an issue with something doesn't mean you will too. If you're really concerned, call the park office, explain your concerns and see what they have to say....personally, I have no problems with Harleys or their riders, but then I've been to Sturgis too...:W

BTW..three reviews, two from 2013 and a "nine" from the only one in 2014....I believe your 'fears' are unfounded........Dennis
