power awning problems

2008 Monaco Cayman with Carefree of Colorado Eclipse power awning that was working fine and stopped. Now I can only retract it if I get on a ladder and while helper pushes 'retract' button, I manually roll it for a couple of feet, then it may roll up by itself, or I may have to move ladder and help roll it all the way...Any ideas? I tried a bit of silicone spray at hinged and guide points, but I think that may have been a mistake.

    Possible. Some of the LCI and Carefree motors look like Power window motors. If you can return it, I would try it. I only use OEM parts, we have to guarantee our work. Doug

    Thanks for the link. Now someone on my CC group on IRV2 claims he used the motor in this link in his Carefree awning...said it was same motor Carefree wanted big bucks for. Is it really the same motor?

    Looking at the Carefree parts diagram, it does look similar but not enough detail to determine.

    Sounds like a low voltage problem. How old are your coach batteries? They might be toast? Try running your RV motor when you retract the Awning...
