I noticed on my Progresive Insurance Policy that it lists 30 days of use per year. I tried to find a definition of this in the contract but had no luck. Now that Im retired I could go over does this mean I would not be covered, how would they no how much I use it. Thanks for any advice Ken

Here's how they police it, when you get in an accident and have a big claim and insurance adjuster is going to come interview you and then you're going to sign a statement telling him or her everything you said is true. That statement will be signed under penalty of perjury. If you lie you've committed a felony. Is it worth the risk?

If this is true (which in 21 yrs. of P&C Insurance sales I have never heard of happening), the most they could do is collect the unpaid premium. The only way a Ins. Co. can refuse to pay a claim for their Insured if the Policy is inforce at the time of the claim is if the named peril is excluded.
this is true! And Progressive is the last Insurance I would ever, ever buy!!!

Yes Progressive does offer FT coverage's, and it is not much more that the 30 day per year usage. When we first got Progressive, we were faced with the decision about how many days a year we would us the MH, and found there was not any difference in price between the 30 day and the next level of coverage, just needed to be stated in the policy. But, we are in Washington St.

As tahiti16 pointed out, full timer coverage and 12 month coverage are two different things. If you are going to be a full timer and not have a home owners insurance policy and you have assets, then you really need full timer coverage. That gives you that liability protection for events that don't involve driving your vehicle. And although those events are rare, you could find yourself if deep financial trouble if one of them happens and you don't have coverage. Part of that liability coverage pays for lawyers to defend you in the event you get sued for something that is covered.

When I did my renewal last month with progressive I asked about fulltimer and they said they do offer it, at least in CA at this time.

Fulltimer is different than 12 months because it has liability coverage and contents that your home policy usually covers. If you still have a home insured than 12 month should be fine on the coach.

To all

I just called Progressive on this as my policy also had the 30 day "limit".

This is not a huge deal, as to upgrade it is just a phone call and $16.21 to go to 12 months. I am sorry I didn't ask about a "full time" rate, but 12 months equals a year to me. Not sure if it means the same to them though. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for putting me in my place ed. Before I posed the question here I sent an email to Progresive asking for clarification and if I needed to extend the usage. They said it could take two days to respond, Still waiting for a official response, its called deception.

When I checked, Progressive did not offer full timer insurance coverage...don't know if that's changed since I'm happy with my carrier.....Dennis

It's not that they limit the days you can use it. They are giving you a discount because you don't use it that much. Auto insurance works the same.
