  • Would probably depend on your location. If you check your area gas prices on pilotflyingj.com, some of them list propane price also.
  • I paid $1.97/gal in Upstate NY a couple of days ago for a 30 lb cylinder. Our bulk tank fuel co-op price is currently $1.61/gal.
  • I paid $9.99 to fill a 20# tank at BJ's in Newnan Georgia yesterday. That's down from about $13.99 several months ago.
  • A couple of weeks ago, the nearest Tractor Supply (Ronceverte, WV) was selling it for $1.69 per gallon. Otherwise, it seems to run between $2.99 and $4.50 per gallon for filling an RV nearby.

I paid $1.88 per gallon for bulk home delivery a couple of months ago. I wish my home supplier would top off the coach tank when they deliver to our home, but they claim some insurance company provision prohibits it.

  • You want to find a bulk distributer of course. Usually on the edge of towns because of the danger. It would be very unusual for there to be a good price at a campground but it does happen sometimes. Like others, I'd suggest a local Google search for distributors and give them a call.

But to answer your question, I paid $1/gal outside of Bend, Oregon last August 10th. Then 3 days ago, I paid $2.40/gal in Florence, Oregon but I should have waited because here in Gold Beach, Oregon (2.5 hours south) it's $2.15/gal. Probably because it's closer to California and there's more competition here then up further north.
