Purchasing propane on the road

You may also want to take at look at "The Next Exit" when planning your next trip. It lists the general and RV related services available at each exit on the interstate highway system. As stated by another poster, Flying J truck stops carry LP and they are specifically listed as such in the publication. It is available in hard copy and online versions.

The two TSC's by me do not have propane. I found one on my route south that did but was very difficult getting to the propane area. When I did the fitting leaked bad and was only charged half of the pump price. From what I have seen is TSC's prices are cheaper than others in the same area.

Tractor Supply X 2, $2.19 here in NC also. Odd thing is my residential supplier is at $2.90 per gallon and I show up at their distribution point, just like Tractor Supply. Now if I could get Tractor Supply to deliver I would be in business.:)

I have had those exact problems with propane. All kind of reasons places with propane can't get it in my tank. Never a problem with camping world. I also use campground propane as much as possible,

Propane trucks drive through rv parks in Texas all the time delivering to motor homes. Nobody ever has to get out of the MH.
I've been getting mine this way for 5 years now at different parks and using different distributors.

Keep in mind that some companies will not fill motorhome tanks from the delivery truck. The reason most often stated is "The insurance company won't let us do that!"
It would probably be a good idea to call your propane supplier and ask if they will fill your motorhome tank from the truck, or if you have to bring it in.

The one we use in Myrtle Beach fills from the truck but no one is permitted to remain in the rv while it is being filled.

I don't know any distributors who will allow anyone to remain inside while filling!
