Question about form 8840 - Here is a great blog

Dennis, it started in 2011, but there are questions and answers up to 30 april 2015.

I was just about to send the form today but was still not sure how to fill it up and if I had to send it. Good thing I found this blog. I was in USA for the following days and I do not have to send the form:

2012: 106 days, divided by 6, it counts for 18 days (rounded)
2013: 130 days, divided by 3, it counts for 44 days
2014: 94 days, counts for 94 days
Total : 156 days for the presence test.
Total of my stay for the purpose of the form is 156 days. The rules is that you have to be in USA for more than 30 days the year you submit the form AND more than 183 days total when counting the following:
Year of report: Full Days
Previous year: 1/3
Previous year: 1/6

One word of caution...that article is four years old...Dennis
