rear overhang/clearance issues?

Was looking for info from dynamax or seneca owners on how careful you have to be pulling into or out of small inclines/uneven roads etc with your rigs?
I had an 07 43 foot haulmark and had to be mindful at times but it seems like the distance from rear axle to the back of the coach is twice as long with these newer rigs as it was on my haulmark.
Is scraping/rubbing the rear bottom of the coach an issue?
We are looking at the new renegade bunk models as well as the dynamaxx dx3 bunk models but both have rather large rear overhang in my opinion.

Yup the big one being the driveways into gas stations.

You will quickly learn to be an expert at just looking at the driveways into gas stations which ones you can go up without dragging and which ones you can't! :W

Here's a tip if there's a ton of grooves already embedded in the driveway? You can bet on you will drag and add to the grooves. I don't even try I pass on these.

You will also learn and it will become second nature to approach any incline at a pretty sharp angle both in and out.

In my "not so super" C, I purchased a roller wheel that clipped onto the bottom of the receiver hitch with the hitch pin:

Problem was, I found that it was constantly dragging in gentle dips because it hung down 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of the hitch.
Worse, when were were in softer terrain such as gravel roads and the like (we do get into the back country with our C on occasion), this roller became an anchor. Yes, it caused issues where we wouldn't have otherwise had problems... (see my 9 catastrophes on the 2012 trip posting).

Here's my current solution:

Gotta love that quote! Reminds me of one about Four Wheel Drive. "Lets you get stuck in places you couldn't otherwise reach."

In the cutaway van based C's, it's common for the chassis to be stretched to accommodate the size of the house body. Is that also practice in Super C's? From what I've read, many on Kodiak chassis were all built on the same (OEM?) wheelbase. If that's true, I'd be adding tracking and axle loading to my list of things to consider. Regular C's without adequate wheelbase are problematic in those areas as well as tail dragging.

Good suggestions above. You could also get V skid bars if not already present. Also going into places, if possible take the dip at an angle, and it will help greatly.

I have been looking at the DX3 also and thought that the rear overhang was excessive. I did find out that the FKS floorplan has about 3 feet less overhang, but the entire coach is also 3 feet shorter. I have a 2007 Seneca 33SS and have not had issues with bottoming out with the rear overhang. However, I do use care when approaching or departing places that have inclines.

I periodically bottom out coming out of my driveway (backing). The impact is at the hitch receiver.

Friend of mine installed heavy duty skid wheels on his 35" dynamaxx. I've since installed a pair of not so heavy duty skids on my C and broke one. My buddies are rated for 18,000 pounds and hasn't had any issue with them yet.
