Recomendations for 2006 - 2008 Class A on W24 Chassis

We have decided to sell our 2008 HitchHiker 36' 5W, now permanently parked in Mission, TX, and sell or trade our 2005 Safari Trek 28RB2 Class A. We intend to replace both with a 38' (+/-) Class A with 3 slides on a Workhorse W24 chassis.

At the moment, based on our online research, the leading candidates are a 2006 - 2008 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 37C or Southwind 37C with the optional W24 chassis. These seem to have the features that meet our criteria as well as pricing in our budget range.

That said, we are open to considering other makes /models with comparable features and pricing.

We would welcome recommendations together with the reasons for those recommendations.

Thanks
  • Our Coachman Epic built on that chassis with Allison has bath and a half, washer dryer, king size bed - been perfect for us
  • Monaco had a few different floor plans based on the W24 chassis and used ones should be available.
The intake tuba is an easy fix. 70,000 miles ago I cut mine off, rotated it 180 degrees, and attached it again. Now with the intake facing the opposite direction, there is no chance of it sucking water and it cost zero to do. It is a 30 minute fix.
  • We love our Bounder 38P, built on the W24 chassis and paired with the 6 speed Allison transmission. The two are a really strong combination together. The wife fell in love with the floor plan, especially the wrap around dinette. In the seven years of ownership have only had two issues, which have been solved thanks to the help from members on this forum. The power gear electric jacks needed to be sealed to stop corrosion on the brake, caused by moisture. The second issue being the air intake tuba needed modified for driving in heavy rain, water would get to the air filter. Other than those two issues the motorhome has been very solid. Good luck in your search!
