Recommendations for Class A windshield replacement

Hello,

We have a 2006 National Tropical LX T370 that needs both sides of the windshield replaced. Our RV insurance company, State Farm, does not cover glass.

We live in Colorado. If you know of good companies that do RV glass repair, we would love to get your recommendations.

Thank you for your help,

Gridley
  • RV Glass Solutions replace both of mine. Real satisfied with the installation.

I can't understand why State Farm will replace windshields in some states and not in others.

are you sure? we have State Farm and glass coverage is part of our comprehensive coverage. we've had 3-windshields on two different motorhomes replaced thru State Farm.

beyond that I'd call one or two RV dealers in your area and see who they use and go from there. or contact Safelight. good luck.
  • I just had my windshield replaced. Took five people to install it since it was a one piece windshield and they did it at my house. Binswanger glass did the work. Very prompt, curteous, and professional. Insurance paid the whole tab and I never saw a bill. Here in SC like many states glass is covered under comprehensive and has no deductible. A two piece windshield shoul be a piece of cake albeit an expensive one.

The windshield was provided by Duncan Systems.
  • I always carry two windshield repair kits and try to fix within 1 hr of a rock strike. Can generally reduce exposure by staying up with the traffic flow. but stuff still happens.

This is a very good idea. And youtube has a lot of information on how to use those DIY fix kits.

I would check with State Farm again and ask the specifically about your cracked windshield. Not all insurance companies cover full glass, side windows, back windows but I thought all insurance companies cover windshield because that is a safety issue if the crack goes into you field of vision. I have had 3 windows replaced without charge or my rates going up. It is far better if they come to your house and do it in your driveway rather than bringing it to a glass company and having to wait for it.
  • Call RV Glass Solutions. They carry all the RV windshields. They have installers in the area they can refer you to. They have a few different warehouses and can ship overnight anywhere. We used them to replace one side of our windshield. They have outstanding customer service. They worked with our insurance company. RV Glass Solutions www.rvglassexperts.com 888-777-6778.
