Refrigerator freezing

I have a Norco double door refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser and just recently have had my refrigerator freezing my food. It is set at the warmest level. The weather here has been in the mid 30's and 40's and raining. Usually it hot and humid and the fins in the back of the frig get some frost on them. But i know that's from the humidity because it will sweat easily. Any ideas?

Can you adjust the temp by sliding it up or down on the fins?

NO, This procedure(sliding the Thermister up and down) IS ONLY FOR AUTO TEMP REFERS, that have a preset Tstat with no adjustment. Doug

You can check the thermistor your self. Press and hold both the mode and temp switches until you get 88. Press just the mode switch three times to get to the thermistor/fin temp reading. It will probably read in the low 20s... what does it read? Next slide the themistor off the right hand fin and put it in some warm water. The reading should go up fairly rapidly and read the temp of the water... Does this happen?
Hopefully this does not happen proving it's a bad thermosister. If it does then I would say it is not the thermositer which means a bad connection or a bad control board. Near the light is the connector so press the release and slide it apart/together several times to clean the contacts. Good Luck.

This will not determine anything. You can have a Thermister that Tests(Ohms) our correctly, but still be defective. In this case, IF the Thermister is mounted on the fins, then you replace the Thermister, then check other possible parameters if that does not fix it. Doug

If true, this would be a FIRST. Leaking door gaskets will cause NO good cooling in the refer, NOT cause excessive running that would freeze things. The Temp thermistor senses the FIN temp, not the air temp. Doug

Yes, that gives you a few degrees of adjustment.

    For warmer, move it DOWN.

Agree. Easy to swap if it has failed.
