Repair pleated rv shades

I have removed all of my day style pleated shades and washed them prior to restringing. One of them has a tear about 3 inches long horizontally along a seam.
I have considered cutting out a couple of the pleats (Containing
the tear) then overlapping the two halves and glueing them together.
Just wondering if anyone has successfully done this repair and what type of glue was used. Or is the whole idea a waste of time?.

    I replaced mine with roller blinds. Black ones in the bedroom and tan ones everyplace else.

    If it wasn't too late for the OP I'd strongly recommend switching to MCD shades. Way easier to operate and better light control. I'll admit that appearance-wise the day/nights have the edge, but after going to MCDs on the advice of others, I view the day/nights as nothing short of a pain in the rear.

    It was going to cost me approx $250 to restring the 7 blinds, plus I would have to repair a couple of tears first. Also, the old blinds did not clean up as well as I hoped etc, etc, I know, it is plain to see I am just trying to justify my knee jerk decision to buy new, but I did it and hopefully I won't be sorry. ;^(

    $860 !!!, Oh well if they install easy, work well, and last long, you'll forget the cost.

    Another alternative for others is to have them repaired by a local blind service. May avoid some profanity.

    Also had a ripped portion near bottom, glued damaged pleats together with "crazy glue". There were plenty of extra pleats at bottom.
    I worked on mine on the bed, made a long baling wire thing to thread new cord through stack of pleats held together with masking tape. Use ingenuity as needed and follow directions carefully.

    I may give that a try.
    However, I just yesterday ordered a complete set of 7 blinds, and am now $860 lighter.Free shipping and no sales tax.
    Instead of pleated drapes, I bought the cellular style, day/night variety. hope I like them.

    Use a fabric glue you can buy at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. It is usually white glue that dries clear. I would think it would work since your shade is not hanging. Good luck.
