Replace front air bags

Warmer the better, then roll them length wise at a slight taper. It is almost a two person job to get them tight and then getting the cable tie on.
Use dish concentrated liquid soap as a lubricant.
When removing the old ones make sure you get the large "rubber" washers out of both the top and bottom. Use an oily rag to clean the area where the new bags and washers will sit. Wipe down the springs to get any old loose rust and rocks that have attached by tar.

The airbags came in today. I can see that rolling these things up is going to be quite the exercise. They are not exactly rubbery. I plan to get them good and warm, take the caps off, stand on them, put the caps back on and use electrical ties to wrap them up. Then give it a shot, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. My wife as an additional honey-do list for me so, this job has to be squeezed in with that stuff. I know you have no idea what I'm talking about.

I suggest you install the air lines for remote testing and adding air.

I check the inflation before every trip and that would be a big pain by crawling under the rig to check.

I installed the plastic air tubes on mine when I replaced the airbags on my rig. Sure beats crawling under the rig before every trip to check the airbags. Found out the old bags were bad when I noticed the front tires were severely worn after a long trip.

Just cut them in pieces and pull them out. You also can put baby power on the new ones also and that helps. Jack up the side you are work just enough to hang and that will give you a little more room.

They do have a lifetime warranty when mine leaked Air Lift sent me a replacement for free postage paid. I know you already ordered yours but anyone else following this thread may benefit. I eventually replaced both air bags with the HD springs from Henderson.

Just cut them out in pieces. Slide the pieces between the coils. BTW, the front Air bags on Chevy chassis are NOT a comfort item but a required item that increases the front end load carrying capacity. NOT having working Air bags on the Chevy P30 chassis causes slight handling problems. That is why Chevy installed them. Doug

Well, I priced the airbags at several retailers and they were all about the same price. So, I just placed an order on-line. As long as I get them installed in a week and a half or so I'm good. Since it's cold here now I will heat them up in the house, wrap them tight, then go out and install them. I don't anticipate it being a huge problem. The old bags are as hard as a rock. I do anticipate them being an aggravation.

On my motor home when I had it. Same chassis you have, I got rid of the airbags and had the springs changed. There wasn't any difference in the way it rode at all. I never changed them again. I would highly recommend it. Had a frame alignment shop do it. $200
