Replaced 9 year old Chinese tires

Recently replaced my 295/75-22.5 nine year old Chinese Versa tires with 6 new Yokohoma ZL101 295/75-22.5 tires. Cost was $3060.00 for 6, mounted and balanced with new metal stems, the Yokohomas have a 7 year warranty. Just finished a 15 day, 2200 mile trip and love the ride quality. The front two of the old tires had some minor sidewall cracking on the outer sides. The rears were still OK.
  • Sad that almost everything is made in China these days.
We have a motorhome with the original tires (9 years) with 15,000 miles on it. The book says to change them 5 to 7 years, but they are always covered in storage and when we arrive at the destinations, and also they look good. Should we change them?

They are now made in the U.S. but they are a Japanese Owned Company. B.F. Goodrich provided Yokohoma with the technology on how to make tires in 1917.

People make buying decisions for all sorts of different reasons. For example, I usually factor in buying local (or as local as possible) into almost all of my buying decisions.

If manufacture origin is important to you the info is readily available. Yokohoma manufactures all over the world include the US and China.
