Replacement Tires on Tradwinds

I have a 2002 Tradwinds with 255/R80/22.5 Michelems .What can I go to with another brand. The motorhome is for sale and I want the buyer to have a safe tire on motorhome without braking the bank. Can I go bigger or smaller and still be safe.
  • I went with Toyos which are a bit larger tire. They have a stiffer sidewall than the Michelins and I found that I actually feel less sway from the back. They are also less expensive. The school district that I drive, ooppss drove for as I just turned in my keys. again, uses Hankooks and they seem to get more miles out of them.
  • After much research I ordered 6 new Firestone FS560 tires yesterday for our coach. Two different dealers told me that these have become very popular lately, many people are getting the Firestones. I ran Firestone on the pickup and 5th wheel for years and loved them. Others on this forum cuss Firestone, but I have had many years of trouble free operation.
  • No, I would not go smaller.

Go with either 255/80R22.5 or 265/75R22.5
  • Personally, I'd prefer you simply discounted the coach for a reasonable price for the tires. I like choosing my own brand, for ride and comfort.....Dennis
  • I agree with Dennis. Plan to knock about $3,000-$3,600 off the price of the coach for new tires.
  • I agree with Dennis. However if you decide to follow thru on your plan, TOYOS all the way.
