Replacing window fabric

Have a 2004 Journey. Anyone ever removed the tacky valance over the windows and replaced it? I can't figure out how to get the pieces removed from the window/wall, especially the ones below the cabinets. I'd rather have plain wooden boards than the awful fabric Winnebago used over/around the windows.

    We recovered ours last fall and the came out great.

    Ours had 2" wide strip that hide the brackets on the inside of the valance. You just carefully pull those strips off to expose the screws on the sides. On top you have to remove the shade to get at some of the top screws.

    They are usually attached with the square drive screws and L brackets on the sides and sometimes screwed straight up into things like cabinets above. Easy replacement and you can make them your own custom creation.
