    Two or 3 A/C designs....

One: Non Ducted, Controls all in the ceiling panel
Universal replacement, you can put anything you like up there

Two, Diected If you replace the ducting unit.> and it is not also a #3 see above

#3, Remote wall-mounted WIRED thermostat.. Must have the same number of wires (or less) or you will run into problems.

NOTE: Carrier Air V The Wall Mounted "Thermostat" is nothing of the sort and is not wired, It is an I/R remote for the real thermostat which is in the control unit inside the ceiling... if not ducted, See "universal" comment.

I wish you would NOT post sometimes. You have no clue on a lot of subjects. This is one. The Ducted versus non ducted has no bearing. The UPPER units(by brand) are all the same as regards to duct or NO duct. You cannot install a Dometic upper unit on a RVP ceiling mount control package or vice versa. Same with ALL brands. You may be able to buy adapter kits, but that is not a factor. DUCTED versus Ducted is just HOW the roof mount bottom kit is designed. Either you purchase or have a lower mount for ducted or one for ceiling type controls(non ducted). You can also have a ducted system WITH ceiling mount controls. Doug

  • There may not be a Coleman replacement that is compatible with the thermostat controls that you have which turns on both AC units as well as the furnace, etc. If you change brands, you will probably have to put the rear AC on it's own separate thermostat.
