My wife & I are long time motor homers. Over the years we have upgraded our comfort & conveniences to the point ,that the retail value of our latest rig is valued over $150,000.00. When we informed the ins. co. we wished to transfer our ins. to our new MH,they said they were sorry, & could not insure us as it was over $150,000.00. As we were set to leave the dealers for a week long shake down cruise, we were in total shock.
It turned out ,our only option at that moment was I.C.B.C. ins.for a min of 3 months. We were wondering how all those georgeous & much expensive motor homes we see in our travels get Insurance.
If you or any of your readers have any options or advise we would love to hear from you.

Sorry , we have ICBC for PL&PD . it was the private ins. co. that would not insure us for more that $150,000.00., ICBC gave us full coverage, the private ins co. was much less than icbc on our old MH

Really well I have had Private insurance quotes for the Comprehensive and collision(which is what your referring to) and never saw an appreciable amount worth worrying about. Like one quote was 24.00 cheaper and another was 65$.Not worth screwing with when you look at the Claim and repair services ICBC has in place. Most likely one of the best in North America plus I just don't like or trust splitting my insurance coverage between two different insurance companys for the same vehicle

Iam not sure what your saying BUT I also live in BC Canada and surely by now you know ICBC insurance is mandatory. You can buy extra liability and collision etc from a private company but I personally have not found its a $$$ saver so I buy ICBC full coverage..There is simply no way you were refused insurance by ICBC because your value was 150K.NOW that being said Unless its new you know full well you cant set the value anyhow so for example if you got a TL and paid 200K for the MH but market value is 180K they will only pay 180K
So iam assuming you currently use and are talking the private insurance part of your total Insurance which is as you know ICBC?
