RV INSURANCE

Progressive here. Went with them when we bought our MH a decade ago because Liberty Mutual didn't have an RV specific policy and was much more expensive. Progressive's RV policy covers your personal property in the MH in addition to the RV.
Since insuring the RV I've moved my auto and homeowners over to get multi policy discount. I just priced Amica for auto as my auto was renewing. Comparing apples to apples Amica was $1700+ annual to Progressives $560 (six months).

Yes, but when you say you had GS insurance, it's not true...you had insurance from another company that you bought through GS. Which company was that?

And GS didn't raise your rate, the insurance company did.

There is no Good Sam Insurance. Good Sam is an insurance broker and underwrites through various insurance companies. However, they will normally quote you through National General as they pay the highest commissions to Good Sam. You will have to ask for them to quote you through other insurance companies.

With that said, we are with Allied. Have been since 2010 when we bought a new TT back then. When we traded in the TT for the Class C and called back Good Sam to get a quote on the motorhome, they automatically quoted us through National General. When the quote was about twice than what we expected, I asked them quote us through Allied again. As I figured, half the amount of National General. No issues, but no claims either.

We have State Farm....ins premiums are based on where you live, how long you've been with the company, value of your vehicle....so we can't say which is the cheapest. I CAN say to make sure your home owners or renters ins will cover your clothes, equipment etc inside your trailer. We've had great coverage with SF and they've never raised my rates after I've made a claim....not even when I screwed up and it cost them $20,000.
