I just sold my old trailer. I first did a back of the hand calculation and figured I paid $6500 for it 12 years ago, so really I don't need anything for it now to be a good deal, lol. After some quick craigslist comps and Nada research, I set the price way higher than I figured I could get, but lower than I saw others for sale, $4500.
Got a ton of texts/calls in the first day, and the first guy that drove over bought it for $4k after a little haggling (part of the charm of craigslist, it just is what it is). He didn't even go inside or check out any of the systems, made me feel a little stupid for spending a lot of time fixing little things and getting it all ready for sale!
Despite his obviously BS story about needing it for his homeless sister, I'm 99% sure he's just going to sit on it all winter and resell in the spring for a quick $1000 more than he paid. Good for him, if you're into the whole bartering thing. Some people enjoy that stuff I guess.
Different price point than the op of course, 1k is different than 10k. But for me a quick and easy sale is totally worth it.
And now I have cash in hand to have leveling jacks installed on my new (to me) motorhome! :B
