I don't have kids but have relatives who do and they have ridden with me, and they are belted in. They were allowed out on occasion to use the restroom and I didn't stop, but were belted in most of the time. There really is no such thing as a safe place even if it is a long flat highway unless you're going 10 mph max. And in California it's now that the law that everybody in a motorhome has to be buckled in.
