Shurflo 4008 or 4048?

Would love to know which one to buy for a back up...we heavily depend on our water pump and usually are away from home without our toad when using it so I want to have a backup for my 5.7 that is going on 7 years old.
The price of the 4008 is nice, but how is the 3gpm flow rate?

    You might consider the aqua jet by remco. It has similar specs to the 5.7 your using. I like mine so far. AquaJet

    My 5.7 failed under warranty. Shurflo sent the 4048 as the replacement. Works just fine. If you like the variable speed pump, CW has the Flojet VSD on sale this month for $205.00.

    My 5.7 shot craps and I replaced it with the 4048 after it was recommended as the replacement for the 5.7 by the parts guy. Easy to install and I can't notice the difference other than a little more noise.

    Bought the 4008. Used if for two weeks. It was a real wimp of a pump. Went with the 4048. Much closer to the 5.7 we replaced.
    Now the 4008 is the backup.
