Size of RV bunk beds?

I've seen some newer Class A's with a set of bunk beds in the rear slide out area. Just wondering if anybody has one of these RV's? If so how big (wide / long) are the mattresses? They look small in the pictures I've seen
  • My 40Gs bunks are 28x73 and the biggest we found in a pusher in our price range.
  • As a side note, I found that most coaches with bunk beds had less counter space in the kitchen. You may wish to scrutinize that issue as you look at various rigs.

  • The bunk beds I'm building are 73" long and 30" wide. I'm 6' 190lbs and fit in both top and bottom bunks fine.
  • I'm 6'2" and still fit on ours, so unless the girls are taller than I am, we'll be good!
  • They vary quite a bit, but are usually intended for children and might be cot size (24 x72) or smaller. About what we still expect soldiers to sleep on.
  • We have bunks. our 15 yr old daughter is 5'8" and she still fits.
Son is 12 and he's 5'5". Since I'm 6'5" i would imagine the day will come when our
son will be too big to fit. Once they get bigger then they'll have to use the pull out couch.
  • The sizes on the ones I've seen are generally listed in the brochure for the particular model. In our 35J I believe they are about 73" by about 30". Smaller adults will fit, but full size people won't. Some RVs I've seen the bunks are really tiny, small children only. I think they are removable to turn the space into a closet. I'd really like the bunks to fit a 6-2 225 pound adult!
  • While I don't recall the exact measurements, since we were just browsing, all of the ones I saw were smaller (way smaller) than twin. I figured they'd be OK for kids up to 12 or 13 or so -- length wise.

My almost six foot son would barely fit.

Width wise - pretty tight. 28, 29 or 30" tops.
