slide out switch

I was replacing my slide out switch and found it had six wires and could not understand why it had to have six wires when on 2 go to the motor. I understand the switch has to have a hot and ground why the other two. Any help.
  • 2 incoming for power.
2 out for positive to motor
2 more for reverse polarity to motor

The 4 out going wires are probably spliced into the 2 motor wires in the wall some where. I have one set twisted just behind the wall plate.

Some of the switch replacements only have 5 terminals to do the same job. Been there, done that.
  • Most likely the other two wires control the motor brake that holds the slide in position when the motor stops.
