Yes, that is water damage from the sink.
If the wood is still solid, it's an easy fix. A little sanding/ a little matching stain/ a few coats of polyurethane.
Polyurethane would be better around that sink, and it's easily brushed on.
Lacquer doesn't like water at all.
IMO that is a lot of water damage for 48000 miles...or a compulsive hand washer..?

- So, not dead in the water, just delayed......Odometers get changed out on a regular basis so doing so would never negate someone from passing any States emissions tests.

Us folks with emission testing 'especially' Calif. THAT sure would not fly legally because the mileage is recorded at emission time to prevent tampering/fraud and you'd be dead in the water with your vehicle.
Why would you be dead in the water?
Friends of mine in California when for smog test and had all kinds of problems because one of the recorded repairs put the mileage in wrong. Didn't match what actual was at time of smog testing. They went months trying to straightened that out so they could get their plates.- I inspected a 95 BMC a month ago for a client, sides were definitely steel, caps are fiberglass. The example had 150k miles, original Cummins/3060, perfect inside with no squeeks or rattles, quick, sweet and silent running down the road.

The axle was rated for 23,000 lbs so it was just a legal problem. - I have (now) a document from Cummins showing the true miles on a work order with work done in July this year.
They got the miles from the ECM.
The doc is a PDF file and dumb as i am about this electronic stuff i cant copy and paste it,i could send his email but theres no sense giving up his address and other info like CC number etc on an open forum.
Mileage was 61,582 in July of this year.
I had this coach for sale for more money,i think $110,000
and after no action for 2 months the owner asked me to dump it,hes old and has heath issues.
He has sold all of his Florida holdings and the coach is next.
