Speedometer

On some vehicles, they won't shift right if the speed sensor goes out.
Had that happen once on a car.

I'm not aware of 2000+ vehicles having a cabled speedometer.... OBDII computers (1996+) should keep mile records.

Most smartphones now have that capability. You can download an app that will detail all the needed info and then some...

Thank you all for your replies. I will check out the speed senson. On another forum, one reply I got was the GPS that shows the speed that you are travelling, excellent idea.

my 1999 on a ford chassis had an issue with the CVA or whatever went bad at the transmission. speed sensor, etc. part under $10 at the time. speedometer/odometer stopped working when it went.
