Stand alone transmission conteoller

Is anyone using a stand alone transmission controller like MSD Atomic TCM Or Quick 4? I have a 460 EFI mated to a rebuilt E4OD with Banks transcommand, high capacity transmission pan, and and auxiliary transmission. Even with all of this, the transmission shift points are terrible. I’m considering ditching the transcommand and factory TCM for a stand alone unit. I’d be able to control TCC lockup and manually shift if I like. Has anyone seen this done in a motorhome?
