Steering Arm

The arm that goes from the steering box down to the front end (about 36") it has zerk fittings on each end but the grease squirts out everywhere its suppose to have a boot or cover on them? What are they called? and where do you get them? looks like a plastic or rubber boot about 1 1/4 shaft hole in the center. Mine have disintegrated. 2002 Newmar M/A
  • Are you talking about the drag link?

At the steering box end, it connects to the pitman arm.
  • The boot does not hold the grease IN...it's supposed to ooze out when being greased. When it starts to do that, your shaft if full and you can wipe any excess grease off. The boot is to protect that area from accumulating dirt and debris that will adhere to any grease and work it's way into the joint...they're called boots and you can get them at most auto parts stores, speed shops and even Camping World.....Dennis
