What do snow birds do when they park their RV for long periods of time? I was told that when ever the RV is parked for a long time and (plugged in) it will cause the batteries to over charge. I park my RV for thw winter at my home and leave it plugged in all winter long. It this not a good idea??

As Tom said...it depends upon your converter/inverter/charger. I don't think they (rv mfg) put the old style single stage charger in rvs anymore....well, maybe the really cheap ones. I had one in my old 2000 Coachmen TT and it went through two batteries before I found out what was happening.

I leave mine plugged in, but it's on a timer and goes on everyday for 2 hours, Enough to keep batteries charged without cooking them!

It depends on the charger. I keep mine plugged in all the time year round. Battery is still good.

I leave mine plugged in all the time. I do check the water in the batteries every month. If you have the proper charging system it will monitor & keep the batteries charged.
I've got a buddy that has a 5vr that keeps cooking his batteries when he leaves it plugged in.
