Tire Dealers

We in the great north west have a Tire Dealer that is second to none. WE have been dealing with them from day one when we moved here. Today we picked up a tire weight ( of all things ) off a street here in Oak Harbor, Not knowing we had we drove the Jeep 25 miles out of town, before we felt the jeep not acting right. Seeing we had a tire very low, I attempt to change it, in doing so proceed to break the special socket that removes the lug nuts.
So I call Les Schwab and get road service, 20 minutes later we are back on the road with the spare installed by the service truck.
We follow the service truck back to the Tire center to get the tire repaired and pay the road service bill. After they find they can't repair the tire, I ask them to order a new one. and asked how much I owed them. The answer surprised me, there will be no charge for the service call. we will call when the new tire is here, and it will be 50% of the retail price. I did not know the tire had a road hazard warrantee.
  • Just be aware that most tires are purchased with road hazard insurance which can be around $20.00 per tire added to the purchase and install price of the tire from the tire dealer when first purchased. I always insist on road hazard insurance when I purchase tires.
  • My only complaint with LesSchwab is that the variety of tires they stock has declined in recent years. Plenty of Toyos, but if you want something else, they might order them in, but prices then go up.

I now like Discount Tires. Used LS model and improved on it.
  • Have been using Les Schwab for over 5 decades and haven't had a bad non-recoverable experience yet.
  • And when You are travelling in Western Canada You will get that same treatment from Kal Tire!
Although they are not connected to Les Schwab ,they each look after the others Customers as if they were their own!
  • I also agree that they have great service and good products.

They also treat their employees well. My son has worked there for over 12 years and has always been treated very fairly.
  • Les Schwab is THE BOMB!

We're second generation customers- our folks bought their tires there, too. Well, since it opened in 1952 anyway. Service is absolutely superior, just as you say. My favorite thing is that there are stores in the teeny tiniest of towns all over the West, and no matter how small an operation any one may be, the service is just as good.
