Bryan,,this may take me a while as my typing is hunt and peck at its best,, The first thing I must insist on is prep work,, a good paint depends on how well you prep the serface before the paint goes on,,prep ,,prep,, prep,, and prep it some more,,you will need to do a good buffing of the surface with a fine grit sand paper or buffing pads to get rid of any shinny surfaces and contaminates that will screw the paint job up,,,of coures you know you will have to cover the windows with paper and the chrome with tape and dont buy a cheap tape buy the tape where you buy the paint ,,,remove any thing that you can before painting its much easier and the job will come out much better as you can paint behind what ever you remove ,,,do a good wipe down with a cleaner (((which you can find what is the best wipe down cleane from the paint supplier))) ,,things you will need are,,a good compresser one that will hold at least 60 pounds constant pressure,, anything less will give you prob,if you dont maintain const.air pressure you will have dry spots which are hard to deal with if you dont have the experiance to know how to handle them,,you will need a GOOD spray gun ((syphon type or a cup gun)) with a (fine tip) if you are gonna spray urathanes,,, as the paint will mix to the consistancy of water and a large tip will put to much paint on to quick and cause it to orange peel or sag,,you will need a regulator on the compressor to adjust the line pressure to abt 40 lbs at the gun,,you will need abt 50 ft. of air line to reach all around the unit or a portable compressor and someone to move it for you while you shoot the paint. one note if you buy a new gun (((I recomend the gravity type gun but they are more expensive)))) go ahead and get a regulator that attaches to th handle of the gun for the closer the regulator is to the gun the better you can maintain a constant pressure,, With urathane paint it will probably cover in 2 or 3 coats but the last coat you will want to really put the paint to it so it will dry out with a high gloss finish ,,but be careful and dont put to much in one palce or it will sag or even run..if you have a building to do this in thats good as long as you have proper ventillation and a good resperator ((dont use the paper mask as they wont stop the harmful fumes from enjtering you lungs and you dont want these fumes to enter your lungs as they really mess you up if not now ,,later)))I might suggest that you start off by buying a cheap oil based paint and try your techniques out on before you start on th unit ,,on the unit is not a good place to develope your skills with the spray gun,,you can use a larg piece of card board to practice on until you have the hang of it..when you but the gun there should be a set of instructins with it to show you the tech...wht ever you do dont stop the gun with the trigger down in one spot while your spraying ,,it goes like this ,,,,,pull the trigger while you are moving the gun across the side and release the trigger before you stop your movement on the side ,,you will need to practice this move for a while before you start shooting the unit...hold the gun abotu 10 to 12 inches away from the unit ,,,set the gun to deliver the paint to where you are comfortable with it with and set the fan pattern to abt 10 inches wide...when spraying overlap this patterm by abt 1/2 ,,,and use a long even stroke while holding the gun at a 90degree angle to the unit,,and remember dont stop the sweep until you have realeased the trigger or it will run with you ,,,do a lot of practcing befor you even attempt to paint the unit ...well I have a blister forming om my typing finger so I will let it rest awhile if you have any questions pls dont fauil to ask,,,,Terry
