Towing 2015 gmc 2wd Yukon slt

Has anyone had any experience flat towing a 2015 2wd GMC Yukon? I have it set up with a tow bar now. Is their a sequence to use to put it in neutral? Do you have to disconnect the battery? Any info would be appreciated
  • I hope you didn't buy this vehicle for the purpose of towing, before you checked to see if it could be towed or not.

  • I towed a Suburban AWD for 8 years covering aroung 60,000 miles with a REMCO trans pump on it. I never had any issues with it.
  • Check the vehicle Owners Manual for RV towing instructions and to see IF possible,

I noticed you are in Texas. I had a drive shaft disconnect installed in my Toyota 4 Runner at Drive Shaft King in Dallas. Although the shop is not the cleanest They do outstanding work. When I had by Toyota in his shop he also had 2 new Cadillac Escalades in for installation of drive shaft disconnects.
  • Please don't try to tow it..you will burn up the trans and won't be under warranty..Go by the owner's manual and the owner's manual only..the life and wallet you save will be your own...I believe the Odyssey was FWD and the Tahoe is RWD which means there is a driveshaft...as a plan, you could call REMCO and see if they can modify it with a drive shaft disconnect...$$$ but they do work...
  • I have a diesel pusher and my tow bar is rated for the weight of the Yukon. Before I towed our Honda Odyssey which is a two wheel drive and never had an issue with it. The manufacture said it wasn't towable but Dinghy said it was. So I'm hoping some way this Yukon will be if going through the right process
  • The other thing you should check is the weight of the Yukon compared to the max towing capacity of your motorhome and hitch receiver. The site I looked at listed it as 5800 pounds. Many gas motorhomes are limited to 5000 pounds.
  • I only believe the 4 wheel drive version is towable as it has a neutral switch..the 2wd version most likely is NOT towable without the addition of a drive shaft disconnect...sorry to give you this on Christmas..but per the owner's manual right on line..

be towed with all four wheels on the
    ground.
