Hello. I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty and although I do all the right maintenance and change tires every 6 years I would feel more comfortable keeping an eye on the tires to ensure they dont blow. Read too many horror stories. So wondering if I should purchase wireless or wired type and what brand? Appreciate all feedback. Thank you in advance.

How does one accomplish a "wired" tire pressure monitor ??Pretty tricky, I would think.

Not sure what you mean by wireless or wired but I have a Tire Minder system I will sell you for $100. 6 sensors and the monitor that plugs into 12 volt outlet.

Yes the wired ones also come with a 15A plug so you can get power from your house. The 2600 mile spool of cord is extra however.

Makes you wonder why the aftermarket TPMS can't be that way. Our last Expedition went 12 years and never needed any batteries in the TPMS. The one I have on the coach seems to eat them up pretty fast.

My wife's Mercedes has a built in tire pressure monitor that displays they pressure in each of the tires. I have no idea how it works, but we've never had to replace the battery in anything so I assume they are somehow hardwired into the rim.

Edit: I got curious and looked it up. It is a wireless system after call with a sensor attached to the rim inside the tire. Apparently the batteries in them last up to 10 years. We only do four year leases so that's why we've never had a change a battery.

Have seen them on commercial buses in Europe. Been around for years.

Makes adjusting for loaded/empty tire pressure very easy!
