I switched from a TT to a class C, but it was 10 years ago. You can't really compare a MH to a TT, its really a TT plus a TV. Depending on where you live, The MH may only be used in the summer whereas a TV, truck, may be used all year long.
To me the convenience of a MH more than makes up for the possible difference in ownership costs of a TT and truck.
