tri mark door handle redesign?

My friend has a 2007 Damon MH.The door latch broke.The local dealer sold her a new latch which is the "redesign".It won,t work because the guide pins are slightly larger in dia than the old ones.Anyone had this problem and how did you resolve it? I thought about grinding the slots a little wider to accept the larger pins.

    well it didn,t come with a new latch plate so did a little grinding and all works well!

    Mine came with a new latch plate for the larger pins. Changed it out and all is good. See if a new latch plate came with the lock set.

    I replaced the latch when mine Broke but then I studied it and did a bit of engineering.

    REmove the striker bolt, take it to a metal smith and have him carve you one out of steel.. It all has to do with the cheap metal Tri-Mark uses.

    I do this with several of my basement locks.
