Trip from Los Angeles to Coure D Alene, ID

Leaving for Coure D Alene ID in Aug for a wedding of grandaughter. I have a 99 Fleetwood Discovery DP. I have driven there with a car a few times, but his will be different. How would you go (route) and where would you stop. We will drive 300-350 miles a day or maybe longer.

What are your suggestions in all areas like night stops food and fueling. Coming home thru Salt Lake city, and stopping a day or two in Las Vegas

Going home through salt lake city I would stop at Jackpot and or Wendover. I like casinos.

I just sent you four files. Two S&T .EST and two direction files in PDF format. The longest segment is from Bend, OR to CDA (415 miles), but it’s good highway/freeway all the way.

Going east through Vegas will add 200+ miles to your journey

I would take 395 to 95. Winnemucca has a couple of adequate RV parks for overnight.

If you have some time then I would head north - spend some time seeing the Oregon Coast which has some of the best State Parks in the country - they head east through Portland onto Idaho.

Unless there is a reason to go through SLC and their horrible traffic, I would take 95 north from LV to I-80, then east to Winnemucca, where I would pick up 95 again towards Boise. all of that is very good roads with very little traffic. We drive 95 all the time and find it a better route than I-15. In fact we will even use US-50 to stay off of I-15 through SLC.

If you have the time, head east and pickup US395 to I90. If your in a big hurry, I5 to I84 to 395 and finally I90.

We used to live in Coeur d'Alene and travelled through SLC and Las Vegas to San Diego to visit family. Do you by any chance have Microsoft Streets & Trips 2013? I have a complete route file (.EST) that would start in Las Vegas with RV parks and fuel stops that I could send you I believe as an attachment to a PM, or send via email.

If you don't have S&T I can put it in text form and send via PM.

I also have a route file that would take you through OR and WA to CDA.
